An amazing place that does, according to my nine-year-old, the “best gluten-free waffles in the world”. It’s unusual to find a place that can cater for dairy and wheat allergies at the same time, but the Waffle Stop has an extensive menu so they even had a choice of toppings. And it was fantastic. Dog-friendly as well, we will be back!

A very disappointing experience. I booked a table for my wife and myself three weeks in advance. It was to be a special meal for my wife’s 70th Birthday. I asked for a table with a sea view by the window. We were really looking forward to a seafood platter as it is my wife’s favourite. A few days beforehand I popped in to the restaurant to make sure that the platter was gluten free as my wife is celiac. I was assured that this was no problem for the chef. On the day we arrived for the meal we were shown to a table on the second row back from the window even though there was a spare window table. Which was taken 30 minutes later by a single gentleman. Then to our great disappointment we were told that the seafood platter was not gluten free and the chef could do nothing to alter this. This suggests to me that the seafood is not fresh but frozen. We spoke to the Manager who apologised (for ruining my wife’s evening she had been looking forward to for several weeks) and said she would speak to the owner. If you are planning a special celebration meal I certainly would not recommend the Fish house restaurant.
