ÄNGUS Steaks & Izakaya

Yesterday I was at ÄNGUA Downtown for the first time. As with another recession, I too was completely enthusiastic at the beginning. There were five of us there and we really spared no expense, which I think was immediately apparent when we bought two bottles of wine etc. In total we paid around 500 euros. The service was quite funny - although sometimes borderline (one person at our table made a mistake, whereupon the waiter said it looked like yours at home)... To start with there were rolls with spreads - the fact that they also provided gluten free toast was a great thing, the bottom was completely black - again not so. But you don't want to be petty, I thought to myself at this point. When it came to ordering it started to get a bit difficult because the waiter didn't understand what we wanted very well. When the food was served it became clear that he really didn't understand it. First, he served everyone the wrong food. There was no Butter Cafe de Paris, although he pointed out to us that it contained anchovies, so he heard it very well, instead of the wedges a baked potato was served, and the sweet potato fries were missing the chili sauce that came with them according to the menu. However, it has to be said that the meat was of very good quality and there was really nothing to complain about. The rest of the dishes were also very tasty. The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the Creme Brulee - the taste could certainly be improved on. We still had a really nice evening - if the organization of the staff was a little more structured, it would be a great, well-rounded affair.

Had dinner this evening and, as always, was very impressed. The staff is super friendly, attentive and really knows their food. My partner immediately received a gluten-free alternative (starter) without asking. The tomahawk steak was just to die for, cooked to the perfect degree of doneness and buttery soft. Good to put in. TOP!!
