8th St. Coffee House

This is a nice, cool, and seemed popular, coffee shop. I thought It would be like going to my local Starbucks, but this is a coffee house that has a full menu for breakfast and lunch. they have lots of gluten-free options, And a full drink menu or teas, coffees and iced coffees. service was great. atmosphere was good. maybe a little loud but that's because it's pretty popular. Nice place to visit in downtown Wichita falls if you're in the area. seems like the locals really like it. overall, I would rather go here than my local coffee shop. We will be back.

My friend and I came in because she loves coming to this location since it's one of the few places that she can eat. My friend has Celiac disease which is a life threatening illness if they consume gluten over time can lead to severe complications. She had been previously and was told that the French toast was gluten free celiac friendly. However this time she was told that was incorrect and they mix the egg wash used to make the gluten free French toast with regular bread. For those who have celiac this is extremely unsafe as they cannot have any cross contamination. The two girls working the counter where apologetic and extremely nice. They checked with kitchen staff who advised that only oatmeal (since my friend wanted breakfast) would be the only option. We thanked them for. Checking and understood. However the reason I am leaving a review is because of a third girl who was extremely unprofessional in attire and attitude. She looks at my friend with a smirk and says we'll she can do a salad. My friend 99% of the time either can't eat at places or has to do salads. She was just wanting to do a breakfast since we are on vacation traveling. The comment and attitude by the random chick was uncalled for and ruined the whole experience at this place. Definitely DO NOT recommend for those who have gluten allergies.
