The first impression is one of the chefs leaning against the counter eating. The music is blaring loudly from the speaker above our table. The tables are so close together that it is difficult to make your way through the restaurant. The young man who served us seemed arrogant and poorly trained. I order the Portobello Burger, which according to the menu is also available in a gluten-free version. However, our waiter informs me that the burger is not completely gluten-free because the mushroom is breaded in bread flour. When I asked about the shrimp burger, which is also advertised as gluten-free, I received the same answer. I finally decide on the Portobello Burger and deeply regret it. It tastes like nothing, the bread is dry and there is more breading than mushroom. My husband thinks his meat burger is okay.

This was my favorite meal in Lucerne. Gluten free in Switzerland is not easy, but Risotto is always a good choice. The service was friendly (again, thank you to all in Switzerland who speak English when they don’t have to!) The food was delicious. And my drink was perfect. The place is just the right size, the music was great and I just enjoyed myself all the way around.
