To the smart ones, they should call it.
Unfortunately we had dinner in this restaurant a few evenings ago... we were greeted by an apparently nice and kind waiter who, between smiles and the other, while bringing us two spritzes we had ordered, asked us if we would like a bruschetta to accompany .. implying that it was an offer, and then putting it on the bill at 12 euros! Furthermore, since I have celiac disease, the bruschetta in question consisted of 5/6 pieces of crackers with unseasoned tomato on top (it seems that the gluten-free bread was out of stock)
We ordered two pizzas, one standard (mediocre) and one gluten free, prepared with a Schär base and topped with sour tomato and mozzarella, honestly not good... and some ordinary beers (Moretti and Peroni) at a stellar cost.
It's true that the prices are written on the menu, it's true that we are in the center of Venice... but 2 spritzes, 2 pizzas and 4 beers, 96 euros was quite a shock.
At least we demanded that the bruschetta "offered" be taken away from us; request accepted only after the waiter pretended for half an hour that he couldn't find the restaurant manager, who was right inside the restaurant.
Don't stop here!!
