I poured my tea from the teapot the cafe had supplied into their cup and as I needed to know how much liquid I was consuming I then tipped the tea into my own mug. I was told off for using my own mug because ‘this is a restaurant’!!!! What!! I paid for the tea, I used their cup but just wanted to measure how much liquid I was consuming- never experienced such behaviour lacking in any sort of empathy - unfortunately we are not all blessed with good health. Asked for a menu - very, very limited offering - no gluten free. I had a slice in my bag and so thought I have that - no! Not allowed, when I pointed out about no gluten free offerings I was told that there are other things????? But didn’t I just ask for a menu? Why wasn’t I given the full list of what was on offer - it’s not up to me to ask if there’s anything else??!!
Extremely disappointing and very unfriendly- unfortunately they have a captive market in Kinloch - no competition, take a flask, buy a sandwich at Glenorchy, DO NOT GO TO AKIN CAFE for good service, service with a smile, any understanding of food allergies and definitely, under no circumstances, use your own mug for tea bought and supplied from them.
