Al Timon is located in a beautiful area of Venice, Cannareggio and in particular the Jewish Ghetto.
I was recently with my family and we were a little unlucky because, despite arriving very early for dinner, we were assigned a rather unfortunate table right in front of the door, with a coming and going of people and related gusts of wind/cold. Luckily, there are no longer any cold temperatures like they used to. :-)
We only eat meat and here they undoubtedly know how to do it well.
We opted for a horse chateaubriant and pork ribs, with some side dishes (potatoes, peppers, radicchio, lentils) and a couple of side sauces. All very good.
We would have preferred more attention for celiac disease since my wife and son were unable to eat the potatoes because they were fried in the meatballs' oil, but all in all we were satisfied.
Furthermore, since it is a wine shop I would have expected more choice in wines and the possibility of consulting a list. I instead had to opt for a Valpolicella and a Malbec by the glass, the bottle offered to me was a Ripasso for 35 euros. I didn't find the serving doses particularly generous either...
The environment is truly characteristic, there are very few tables and you have to be lucky and perhaps know the owners to find the best place.
It's a shame that I went into this experience a bit with my teeth raised. I don't know if I would go back if not to eat good meat in Venice.
