Alambique

Very nice and well-kept place, the waitress who served us was very helpful and careful in satisfying our needs (out of four people at the table there were one celiac, one vegetarian and one who doesn't eat cheese). Good dishes, but there is very little choice for vegetarians.

Alambique is a must try when visiting Medellín! Their physical menus are a delight, and prep you for an exciting gastronomical journey into the heart of Colombian Pacifico cuisine. The plates are designed for sharing, as the portion sizes are very generous. We had the tomato cream & avocado soup, yucca hedgehogs, and seafood casserole. Their drinks menu is incredibly extensive. We had the Medellín Guarapo & Viche Sour cocktails, in addition to a local beer & Komboucha. The flavours, textures, and spices were mouthwatering. We can’t recommend enough. They also took time to go through each dish and chat about my dietary restrictions (gluten & lactose free). They were able to accommodate my restrictions without any issue. We highly suggest calling ahead to make a reservation, so that you get a preferred seating area. They seated us in an area that is typically reserved for overflow, but it was quite private, and offered great views over the courtyard of the restaurant. Because we were in a more private area, service was great, but sometimes quite sparse. However, overall we rate our experience of Alambique 5 stars.
