Albion Hotel

Had dinner at the Albion last night for a celebration. Unfortunately, the food was a bit of a letdown, with some meals being delayed, the steak being burnt and there being no Gluten free options in the veg bar other than peas.. (It is possible to make potato bake without gluten..) However, I am still giving these guys 5 stars over all and we will be back. The staff were more than accommodating with us bring our own birthday cake and some balloons. I know issues happen, and its generally not the issue itself but the way it is dealt with and I have to say the staff dealt with it really well, they were very attentive and apologetic and dealt with the situation well.

We had dinner on a Wednesday night with friends and it was quite busy. The staff were very friendly, helpful and obliging. The meals were very generous in size. Everyone enjoyed their meals, but one person thought his beef schnitzel was a bit overcooked. There were several choices for gluten free. I had one, the Beef and Stout pie, no pastry. I was fine afterwards and the next day also. No unwanted side effects, gladly. We all enjoyed the evening.

People living with celiac disease this is a good place to eat. We are a family who are very hyper sensitive, we were able to eat here last night, lots of selection, we feel caution was paid as none of us were sick. The chef - Darren came out and reassured us what was safe to eat at the salad bar and then after our meals checked to ensure we were all ok post eating our meals, we appreciate this care. The food was hot, fresh, generous serves and yummy. Looking forward to the nicer weather and sitting in the outdoor area while the kids have a play. Would recommend.
