Had dinner, 1hr 5 min wait on a mid October Saturday as expected. My daughter has celiac and the waitress was so careful to ensure she had a great gluten free meal, putting us at ease when noting when she washed her hands and which order she did things in. Thank you!

This is one our places to eat in the world 🌎! I gave it 5 stars for rooms however i have no idea…..this review is for the restaurant ONLY We come to Hill city and Custer as often as we can for me with work it has been to long. My wife and the kids were here just last summer. The Alpin Inn is a staple on each visit. You should not miss this place . If you’re reading this you might be thinking should we try it? YES!! For me🙎‍♂️I ate Shredded Filet Mignon Dip, 🥩I’m a mostly meat eater. This filet mignon was no let down. Wasn’t sure it would be actually filet mignon or a typical shredded steak sandwich. The meat was so tender and the au jus was the best i have ever had.‼️Usually i dip because the meat is just ok. In this case it was a battle should I dip or not?!? 🤺 It didn’t need the dip because it was already a great tender meat. But the au jus was a for sure added extra special treat! 👍🏼 I ended up using all of the au jus and just soaked it uo with my bread. I want to be clear this sandwich didn’t need it! Best French dip EVER‼️ I was lucky enough to grab the bigette  🥖from my wives salad and used the remaining au jus to a good cause!  I have grabbed a pretzel 🥨.. and honestly i would skip it. It was ok My wife 🙎‍♀️she had the Candied walnut and mandarin salad, as you might know my wife eats gluten free. So this salad of course fits the bill. She don’t finish it all so i had the remaining and it was amazing! That dressing was the perfect complement to the wild greens. I’m not a huge salad fan since i desire more volume and substance to my meals. But this was simple fantastic tasting! 😋 Dessert 🍮 🍨🥮🍰 Roasted apple napoleon ‼️‼️ And Bread pudding‼️‼️ Now the bread pudding is my wife’s most favorite treat she has ever had in the whole world! 🌎 And I’m sure you’re thinking hey wait she eats gluten free. She has avoided gluten 100% of the time in the last 10 years. So the last time she had this dessert or any gluten was a long time ago. We usually leave or vacation and she wishes she would have had the bread pudding. So lucky she does not have an allergy to gluten. Otherwise of course this would not be something she would have done. Without that long story of why she eats gluten free and how her body reacts to eat. This year she had prepared herself to have this bread pudding! Best Bread Pudding EVER‼️ Amazing Napoleon!! ( i don’t have them very often so hard to say best ever…but absolutely no complaints from me. It’s number 1 on my list and all future ones will be compared to. So to summarize: We both were in heaven and we plan to return today for it again! Oh bring cash! No credit cards taken. ATM in lobby if that helps you :-) Update… We went back to the Alpine in a total of three times this week. Two times for lunch and one time for dinner. The lunch menu has lots of great stuff on it and my review was based on that menu and its food. Saturday night we went for dinner, your dinner choices are small steak or big steak that’s it so if you’re going for dinner, you do not have the variety of choices you had at lunch. My review of the dinner Is Les than the lunch review? I gave the dinner 3 1/2 stars the steak was OK. The dessert was still amazing. The atmosphere is pretty cool. And overall, I feel the price is really good for all of your options
