We have recently started travelling with our coeliac 7 year old and Canberra was the second destination. We were looking for Indian vegetarian food and contacted Amara restaurant after some research. Online reviews suggested that allergies were taken care of and gluten free food was available. I personally spoke to the chef over a quick call and was not disappointed when we finally arrived and dined at the restaurant. The staff is well trained and patient. They understand the level of diligence required for a coeliac to dine and took great care. We ended up eating most of our meals at the restaurant. The chef prepared dosa for my son on a fresh, clean pan. He even specially prepared a side dish with paneer. Extremely greatful to head chef and the patient- warm staff at Amara.
