Where to start... I guess with this: flatbread = pizza.
This is a pizza joint/bar. The pool tables from Andirons and then Dover Valley Forger survived! But the atmosphere, while ski themed and delivering on some clever ideas (like walls made to look like birch forest and signs you might see tree skiing) ultimately fail due to the grim white lighting and the overall tired feel. The pizza is good altho the mushrooms (which are on most slices) were not precooked and created a watery pie. The new pizza oven is legit. Under carriage was solid with the dough having a good fermented bite to it. Love that they have gluten free options for those poor unfortunate souls who need it (top pie in pic) but expect to pay NYC prices for the luxury. In fact, overall this place is damn expensive. But I do love that they try to keep it local and they also offer gluten-free crusts (added $6 surcharge??) which is appreciated.
This is a 3 star review in most places, but I appreciate that Dover is trying to modernize it's culinary scene and this is a great addition to that effort... and for that: 4 stars.
