This is my first visit to Rosemary Beach, and I must say, I'm underwhelmed by their culinary offerings. Despite the affluent neighborhood boasting homes worth over $2 million, the food quality falls short of expectations, especially compared to less pricey areas in California.
I ordered the mushroom pizza stating it had "Fancy Mushrooms" for $22, plus an extra $3 for a GF crust. Expecting a variety of higher end mushrooms as advertised, king, oyster, and shiitake. Instead, I received only crimini mushrooms, a far cry from the promised selection. While disappointing for any diner, it's particularly disheartening for a mushroom enthusiast like myself. Even the subpar GF crust I could forgive, but the misrepresentation of the pizza toppings was unacceptable.
The manager comped the pizza but insisted that all mushrooms were mixed together. However, upon closer inspection, every piece was indeed crimini, the cheapest option. I hope they address this issue to ensure a better experience for future customers.
If you ever find yourself in San Diego, I highly recommend checking out Buona Forchetta for authentic Italian cuisine, including the best thick gluten-free dough, made by a genuine Italian owner.
