Amsterdam Barrel House

I’ve been to this restaurant twice, and both times, the experience was great. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the location is convenient with plenty of parking,I never had trouble finding a spot. The service is outstanding. If I remember correctly, our server’s name was Adam, and he was fantastic! He gave great recommendations, checked in the perfect amount, and made sure we had everything we needed without being too much. The entire staff is friendly and attentive, which really adds to the experience. It’s also a great spot for families. My son loved the kids’ menu, and the ice cream they brought him was a nice touch! Last time , I noticed people watching games, so it’s also a great place to go with friends. I don’t drink, but my friend mentioned that their beer is really good. As for the food, it was good and definitely worth trying, but nothing special. We ordered the fish and chips and schnitzel, and while they were tasty, they didn’t stand out. The first time I visited, the fries were different,crispy and fresh, almost like homemade, and much better than the frozen ones they served this time. That being said, maybe other dishes on their menu are great, so I’d love to come back and try more. I’d also love to see healthier options, like grilled chicken, quinoa, or a gluten free salmon dish, so I could visit more often,not just on cheat days! Overall, it’s a great restaurant with excellent service and a cozy atmosphere. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu and would recommend it, especially for families and groups looking for a relaxed and friendly place to eat.

Amsterdam Barrel is a bar/restaurant featuring its own in-house beers brewed across the road. It also features a good selection of pub food, contemporary cuisine and a few tasteful vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options. They serve a variety of wine and cocktails and beer. The beer itself is fresh and crisp. If you're not a person familiar with a type of beer, they offer sampler options (light, wheat/IPA, amber, dark); four 5oz glasses. You can choose one of these types (I personally recommend the light one as I found it the most refreshing with a clean taste). The food options were all tantalizing, however, I decided that the Smokehouse BUrger was the best pairing with the sample light beers. The burger was expertly prepared with a nice char, fresh vegetables, a crispy onion, tasty bacon and brought together by a very satisfying beef patty. Just beware - it is a hefty burger so open wide before you bite. Our server was polite, friendly and expedient with taking orders, bring drinks, and clearing away empty glasses and plates. She was also knowledgeable about their products and gave excellent descriptions of the beers. Next time, I'm getting the lemon schnitzel.
