This cozy spot offers a traditional British pub atmosphere with lacquered wooden tables and a chill vibe, enhanced by fantastic outdoor seating and good music. The welcoming service and warm ambiance create a comfortable setting, though gluten-free food options are limited and not guaranteed safe for celiac guests.

Three people wanting to eat and drink beer, decided to support a local brewery. One of us has celiacs, so I called ahead of time to confirm that the restaurant could accommodate this. Over the phone I was told yes, of course. The only thing is that they cannot guarantee that the fried food is gluten free. Fair enough, we decide to book a table online and write a comment in the booking as well that one person has celiacs. I had also gotten 2 confirmations/reminders of the booking in the days leading up to the booking. Yesterday we came to the restaurant. When I came in the waitress gave me their booking list and asked me to confirm that the booking was mine. I then confirmed yes, that’s my booking and could see the comment written that one of us has celiacs. As we were placing our drink orders, my friend asked about gluten free beer. At this point the server informed us that he could have a gluten free beer, but the kitchen would refuse to make any food gluten free and that he would not be able to have anything there. She also tried lying that there was no note on the reservation (I saw the note when she asked me to confirm that it was my booking). I have full understanding that it is difficult for restaurants to accommodate food allergies, especially on busy days. However, there were many opportunities to tell us about this beforehand. Not at 19:00 on a Friday in Oslo when all other restaurants are fully booked.

I absolutely loved this place when we stopped for lunch on a cold February day. A pint of Husets Pale Ale next to a flaming fire. And then the most amazing Gorgonzola Mussels! Cast aside notions of fishy smelling feet. Well there was a sniff of that… more importantly filling and mop it up with some bread tasty. The gluten free vegan option was a burger but delicious. And we were made very welcome by everyone there. Thank you!
