Angelo's Restaurant

We got there right before the dinner rush. The staff was kind and knowledgeable about what items were safe for me as a person with Celiac Disease. The Scungilli was fantastic, the snails had a similar texture to octopus, and the portion size was generous enough for my husband and I to share. The Gemelli Gluten Free pasta was quite interesting, but in a good way. My kids both devoured their meals as well which says a lot.

Been to providence a few times and I like to try different restaurants. This one had a cafe type vibe and the food was okay. Our waiter was alright. We did hear another waiter taking about how the restaurant was known for their eggplant and veil … wish I knew that before I ordered. My husband got the gluten free pasta and said it was terrible. We ordered the peppers as appetizer and didn’t get bread. When we asked for bread, they brought it with ‘I can’t believe it’s not butter’ … what Italian uses I can’t believe it’s not butter ?? I got the Drunken Chicken, it was COVERED in sauce and it was a nice thin cutlet cooked to perfection. But, Personally next time I’m in providence I’ll go somewhere else.
