Angels Hotel Bar & Restaurant

Had a meal with family on Saturday night and was very disappointed. Venue was advised at time of booking that we had one diner Gluten Free which was fine. My daughter chose a lamb dish with blue cheese and the dish came without blue cheese. When my daughter questioned this, the waitress went to the kitchen to ask and was told that the blue cheese sauce advertised with the meal was not actually GF. Why then was this dish advertised on the GF menu. My daughter asked if there was any blue cheese she could out on the side to which she was told there was only the blue cheese sauce available and no other GF alternative. She was asked if she wanted to order something else which she turned down as this would have meant her eating on her own as the other diners would all have been finished ny the time she would have been served. Onto the drinks orders, I specifically ask for my soft drinks without ice and was given ice on one occasion. A cocktail was also returned a spicy margarita which was not spicy and at £12 should have been served correctly. It was replaced but was still not spicy. I appreciate that you were busy but mistakes like this should not be happening. Won't be in any hurry to come back to be honest.

I'm a frequent visitor to Angels as its one of my favourite restaurants. I made a visit on Thursday night with my daughter and ordered up my usual which is gluten free Balmoral chicken. The waitress went into the kitchen with my order and then came back out to tell me I couldn't get gluten free Balmoral chicken. This baffled me as I get bit approximately twice a month. Anyway after explaining to the waitress what to remove to ensure it would be gluten free she went back into the kitchen and it was agreed it could be done. I just wondered if there is a new chef. This is not a complaint... more of a query.
