Applebee's Grill + Bar

I came here with my family a few weeks ago and got the Ribs meal. I have a severe gluten allergy which should be taken seriously at any given place. I got the Ribs meal because on the menu it says “ Gluten Sensitive” (corporate for gluten friendly) but in reality the ribs seasoning has wheat in it. The staff and manager on duty should have taken that account but didn’t and i got so severely glutened that my intestines were on fire. I could not walk for a day and was vomiting for a few hours. This place takes zero accountability for their actions and has no care about their customers needs and wants. The waitress was friendly but I wouldn’t go here if you have any severe allergies to anything. We sent an email and tried to contact the store but no response. Wanted to sue but it’s too much of a hassle. Applebees.. take care of your customers. Do better. Worst place ever.

The place was packed on a Friday night but we didn’t wait to get seated. In the Sturbridge area there are not a lot of choices, but we’d still come here again. If you’re traveling through, spending a day or camping locally for the weekend. This is a solid dinner choice. Plenty of parking, appeared accessible for anyone needing extra mobility accessibility and family friendly. I imagine it’s also LGBTQ friendly, though I don’t know anything about their corporate policy. Food was OK. A bit on the salty side, but served in a timely fashion, served hot and the food was the quality I expected for a chain restaurant. I enjoyed my meal. They also had drink specials for the season. Made for a nice night out. I was very happy to see their menu showed Gluten sensitive options. Careful here as it’s not GF but not made with gluten ingredients. There could be cross contamination, a problem if you’re super sensitive. This is still a huge plus given that some places still don’t make an effort. Prices were in line with what we expected. Service was quite good. (Tom was our server tonight and he was attentive). Overall, nothing fancy yet worth a future visit.
