The restaurant comes with a mixed bag. First of all the service was quite good.
Mrs.C rated her baked potato 4/5 with a generous filling. My broccoli and brie soup was watery. I could hardly taste any broccoli. The bread was pretty ordinary. No gluten-free option. Mrs C wanted a cherry & apple tart. The cherry has virtually none existent bar its look.
The caramel apple crumble tart was excellent & generous. The peppermint tea and regular breakfast tea were good. I think the restaurant was a little expensive for a couple of basic food mistakes.

Cafe: gluten free option is a tasty option here - on the freshly baked board. Noted a gluten free lentil soup. A sanitizer mask station. Layout overall improved. Cute gift shop option variety Nick nacks and children books. Can become a go to for fresh veg light brunch or pot of tea or bread basket produce of Scotland.
Always pleasing to see how local cafe shops improve with fresh ideas, food and care.
