Arismari, Cretan Creative Cuisine

Very nice atmosphere with a sea view. Very tasty food with good value for money. (The shrimp spaghetti had a lot of shrimp in it and the tuna steak was also very large.) Plus the very competent and friendly service. There are also gluten-free options.

BIGGEST PROBLEM: unreliable description of the gluten-free options. Food is average to unimpressive for Greece. We had late lunch so we ordered salads and fries. 2 out of 4 of the salads were ok however we had to wait for these approx 30 minutes even though the restaurant was rather empty. One of the salads “Cretan greens”, represented boiled greens and when served, it looked like a soup with blizzard taste. The look had nothing to do with the picture on the list. The egg plant spread was not tasty, which is hard to achieve - what could one possibly mess up while making it? The fries were ok. They brought bread and a spread without asking - but guess what - apparently it was not a compliment, we had to pay for it. The only waiter who was smiling to us was the one who cleaned the tables - nice guy.
