On a hot day, this was a peaceful oasis of cool shade walking amongst giants.
At £6 entry, a bargain with enough to hold interest for several hours.
I was amazed at how long ago the gardens at Arley arboretum were established ... explains why there are so many really mature trees.
Lovely cafe here too which served good value, reasonably priced & good quality food. I'd recommend the Arley ploughman's. They also had both white & brown gluten free bread. The staff were friendly & helpful.
Well behaved dogs on a lead are also permitted in the gardens (plenty of bins around).
Sadly, they could do with updating & increasing the number of benches (pref with a backrest) in shady areas as well as the few in the sunshine - the main reason for my 4/5 stars.
