I have driven past Aurelio’s for years and I am not sure why I waited until yesterday to stop in. I have tried numerous Italian restaurants in the area and just don’t seem leave satisfied. This particular day my family and I decided we would try somewhere totally different. The decor is absolutely adorable with murals and vines painted on the walls. Chandeliers hang from the ceiling, with beautifully set tables covered in crisp and wrinkle free white tablecloths. Almost like entering a different world. I easily sat back and just enjoyed my experience! Our wait staff was prompt and service very professional. We ordered the fried mozzarella appetizer whIch was served with a very tasty tomato sauce. I tried a small tasting of the meat sauce to see if I would possibly enjoy a plate of just pasta with meat sauce. For me it has been difficult to find just a plate of old school red sauce/meat sauce. I was told that they do not salt the sauce so customers can salt to their preference. I was skeptical. The sauce did not need salting. They use an absolutely delicious tomato product for their red sauce!!! I think a little more garlic and maybe a pinch or two of sugar, regardless I could chow a plate of pasta with red/meat sauce. What happened was our waiter explained the specials and two of us just had to order the Tortellini alla Nona. Oh my gosh. Yummy tender tortellini covered in a bacon and onion palomino sauce. And, surprise there were a few chunks of delicious garlic throughout. Oh were we happy! My family loves garlic!! One of us consumes a Gluten Free (GF) diet as a dietary choice. The Alfredo with GF pasta and grilled chicken was wonderful. The pasta is similar too a miniature mostaccioli with a great bite/texture and flavor. When you dine here is like eating at grandma’s house. The food is freshly prepared. Not that heave prepackaged possibly full of preservatives type food. The only reason I took away one star was for to the not so tasty tortellini chicken soup. The broth could be tweeted some. The house dressing was okay. FYI you can order the ‘alla Nona sauce even if not on the menu/specials. I would order it on just plain spaghetti 🍝. So if you have passed Aurelio’s you really should stop in. Sit down, relax, dip your bread in olive oil, a little parmigiana... Enjoy! 😉
