Avli Taverna Restaurant

We decided to give this place a try on our second day in Zakynthos — and we were so pleased with the experience that we ended up coming back every evening. The staff is incredibly kind — and not in a forced way. You can feel that Saimir and his Team genuinely enjoy interacting with guests, offering advice, and making sure you feel welcome and cared for. They’re also very accommodating when it comes to individual needs (for example, my wife doesn’t consume dairy or gluten). As for the food — whatever you choose will definitely be made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Portions are generous and satisfying. I personally preferred the “Traditional Dishes” section of the menu, including lamb kleftiko, moussaka, honey lamb, and beef stifado, among others. The setting and atmosphere are also lovely. One thing to keep in mind: if you’re planning to come after 8:00 PM, it’s advisable to make a reservation, as the place fills up quickly. Also, since it can get quite busy and all dishes are prepared fresh and with care, you should expect to wait around 30-40 minutes for your main courses. If you're very hungry, consider ordering some starters to begin with. In summary: Avli is highly recommended!

Magnificent. Beautiful location, very kind staff, the waiting times were short for the food and without a reservation we were seated immediately. They have all the gluten-free options and also very good. We were there in June and it was half full, probably better to book in high season. Truly magnificent top place and good food, excellent price.
