BBQ KING Smokehouse offers a delightful, rustic atmosphere with ample seating options across its upstairs area, main dining room, tavern, and charming outdoor patio. It's truly a welcoming space that sets a great tone for a meal.
A special shout-out goes to our incredible waitress, Lea, who was an absolute star! While the menu didn't explicitly label gluten-free options, Lea went above and beyond, consulting with the managers to ensure we had a safe and enjoyable dining experience despite our cross-contamination concerns. Her dedication truly made a difference.
For starters, we tried the burnt ends. While they arrived fried, which was a bit unexpected given the "smokehouse" in the name, they were still a decent beginning to our meal. After careful consideration and Lea's diligent fact-checking with the kitchen, I decided on the pulled pork, beans, and coleslaw for the main course. The pulled pork was satisfying, and the accompanying sauces were fantastic, really elevating the flavor profile. The beans, though on the sweeter side for my preference, had a delightful surprise with bits of meat mixed in, which was a welcome touch.
While my expectations for a "BBQ King Smokehouse" were quite high, the overall experience was pleasant, largely thanks to the ambiance and exceptional service from Lea. BBQ KING Smokehouse has a lot of potential, and we appreciate their efforts to accommodate dietary needs.
