Unique ezekaya style dining. Menu allows you to sample, mix and match different small plate items similarly to "tapa" style eating except with Japanese and Hawaiian oriented food. No sushi available but the Hamachi sashimi with ponzu sauce is outstanding. The Honey macadamia nut shrimp is a must. If you like honey walnut shrimp then you will love this improved version. The other suggested must try is the Pork Belly fried rice. Generous portion of crispy delicious pork belly. The server said the rice is made to order and not made in large batches ahead of time. It has a little homemade kitchen, toasted garlic crumbles, fresh scallion and furikake garnish along with an Onsen style egg. Best fried rice I have ever tasted! Most of menu is gluten free and they are very flexible if you have any allergies. Good selection of chilled sake to choose from but no hot sake. A variety of crafted cocktails to choose from. No draft beers but modest offerings of local beer. Only three desserts to choose from. We had the Nanako Japanese style cheesecake. Light and fluffy. Wonderful alternative to your typical N. Y. style cheesecake. All in all, a fun and tasty alternative dining experience.

The food is phenomenal! I ate at the restaurant twice during my stay at the Fairmont, and I highly recommend making reservations. Portions are on the smaller side, but the flavor makes up for it. Our waitress Chelsea provided excellent customer service and was knowledgeable of the Gluten Free options.
