Baba's Place

Came here for Father's Day with the family and had the set menu. It was an abundance of food and incredible. Great service from our waitress and we tried some really nice wines. They were very accommodating of my gluten intolerance and was able to modify the set menu for me - 10/10.

I booked Baba’s Place for my boyfriend’s birthday, and while a few guests had to cancel last minute, we still attended and used our reservation. Upon arrival, I informed the staff and even offered to move to a smaller table to accommodate. Instead, they left us at the same table but added three strangers to it—who proceeded to take non-stop flash photography right in our faces. We didn’t complain, thinking, “It’s fine, we had last-minute cancellations,” but then they had the audacity to inform us they’d be adding a surcharge to our bill for the missing guests. I refused, as they had already filled the seats with other diners. Throughout the night, we felt uncomfortable due to constant staring from a man behind the bar (moustache, curly hair, tattoos) and excessive whispering between him and the manager. It was unsettling and made my group feel unwelcome. On top of that, the service was disappointing. The chicken was sold out, and despite listing my dietary restriction (no beef or pork), no one informed me that my only other main course option would be unavailable. I was left with nothing substantial to eat, and the mains took an hour to arrive. To make matters worse, when I ordered their “gluten-free focaccia,” I was served a sad slice of plain sandwich bread—an absolute joke. I won’t be returning, not just because of the food but because of the poor service, gossiping, and overall uncomfortable atmosphere. Extremely disappointing.
