Babbo Portocolom

My visit to this restaurant was quite disappointing. When asking about gluten-free options, they initially indicated that they would offer them, but in the end they only presented us with the option of a chicken breast, which turned out to be a very limited and inappropriate choice. The attention was poor, with a service that left much to be desired, both in friendliness and efficiency. Additionally, it was cold throughout our meal, which made the experience even less pleasant. As for the food, the octopus was surprisingly tough and difficult to chew, and the bread with tomato, which should be a simple and delicious dish, turned out to be very tasteless and not very fresh. The only thing that stands out from this experience are the views of the sea, which are really beautiful, and the presentation of the dishes, which was careful. However, in terms of quality and service, I cannot recommend this place enough.

Today we spontaneously went to Babbo. We didn't have a reservation, but there was enough space. We were greeted warmly and were allowed to choose our table. The cards were quickly handed out. Upon request, the card with the designated allergens was handed over. This was in Spanish, but in the same order as the "real" card. This means that gluten-free food is easily possible here. What I didn't like was that although the menu included alcoholic drinks, there were no other options. There are non-alcoholic drinks, but you don't know in advance how expensive it will be 😉 But it was within reason. As a starter we were offered bread with aioli. Upon request we were given gluten-free bread. The aioli dip that was served wasn't great...It doesn't taste homemade, it just tastes like mayonnaise with garlic. We had a much better meal the previous evening in another restaurant... For dinner there were quesadillas with pulled pork, cheese, guacamole, sour cream and tomatoes/onions. Unfortunately, the quesadillas were only filled with meat and cheese. The rest could be added separately... Unfortunately it wasn't seasoned enough for me and tasted bland. The children's spaghetti with tomato sauce was really a small portion. They were completely eaten, but our five year old was still hungry afterwards. Unfortunately, my Mallorcan suckling pig tacos weren't seasoned enough and the meat tasted just like the pulled pork... Unfortunately the Broich shrimp were not at all tasty as they tasted very fishy. The restaurant itself makes a nice impression. You can look at the water and sit in the cool despite it being lunchtime. The music is pleasant and not too loud. The toilets are clean and functional.
