Bagel Bistro Hobe Sound

I like that they have gluten free vegan bagels brought in from Joey's Gluten Free Bakery in Boynton Beach, however they use a shared toaster if you want your bagel toasted. It made me nervous to even ask for my bagel sliced so I took my bagel to go and hoped that there was no cross contamination from just having the bagel warmed in the microwave uncut and untoasted. Definitely not celiac safe and it defeats the purpose of having gluten free bagels. I get it; a lot of people don't understand that being gluten free is usually a medical necessity and not a preference. Even 1 crumb (toasted or not) is cross contamination with serious side effects. I'll make the trek down to Boynton to Joey's directly next time for the bagels because I know they will be 100% safe. For those trying to reduce their gluten intake for other reasons, I encourage you to check this place out though.
