Barbed Wire Cafe

Loved the happy & colorful nostalgic decor here! Our meals were made to order, and were absolutely delicious. The pulled pork special was homemade, not from a commisary. The people who work here are very friendly and helpful with suggestions to suit a gluten free diet.

I’m visiting from Austin and experienced Plainwell at its finest! Seven of us piled into Barbed Wire Cafe Sunday morning unannounced and the staff were warm and inviting! They were masters at how to take our orders and submit to the kitchen in a way that the kitchen did not get overwhelmed and we all received our food around the same time, fresh and hot!! More importantly, the way they took care of me and my gluten free requests was heavenly! They assured me my food would be prepared in its own skillet etc. although they didn’t have GF specific options, being that we were there for breakfast it’s easy for me to identify my options. When we all received our food, I noticed that my American fries were different than everyone else’s. That tells me....they really were looking out for me. I’m headed to TN today which is about a 9hr drive and am so grateful that I can drive in confidence that I will not be dealing with an angry digestive system, brain fog, irritability, and tiredness. Barbed Wire Cafe, I know my family will be seeing you soon and I hope to see you again! Thank you for being here. You made a difference in my world. Peace.
