We decided to stop here for lunch along the bourbon trail and it was very disappointing. The restaurant itself is beautiful and we had high hopes that this would be a good experience because it seemed clean, and it wasn’t too busy when we arrived. Two in our party are celiac and when we asked if they could accommodate gluten-free, we were given a separate gluten-free menu to choose from. When we ordered our food, the waiter needed us to spell it as he had never heard of celiac or gluten before. Not a good sign that we would receive a gluten-free meal, but my sister ordered a caprese salad with a side of roasted salmon and he assured us he would make a note of celiac to the chef. I ordered the chicken salad and requested it be put on gluten free bread or simply lettuce. Over 30 minutes later, we received our food... for a cold salad and a cold chicken salad that was pre-made. I have no idea what on earth these people were doing in the kitchen - it was basically just plating the food and should not have taken so long. When my food arrived, I confirmed that it was a gluten-free bun (I suspected not since it looked like brioche). Sure enough, it wasn’t and they disappeared with my food for another 30 minutes. The rest of my party had long finished their meals (they said everything was just ok - nothing was good) before the manager came over to apologize that they had sent my gluten-free bun to another table and that they were remaking it. He offered to Comp my meal (if he didn’t, I would have given this place one star) and apologized. By this time, I was still waiting for my meal and we were late for our next bourbon tour so I asked him to box it up. I was shocked that this process took another 10-15 minutes to box up a meal - especially since the manager was the one doing it. Once I finally ate my food, it was very disappointing. Not inedible but incredibly bland. It truly tasted like they had combined diced chicken with a bunch of mayonnaise and that is it. The menu said diced apple, grape and tarragon (I believe) but there was NOTHING on it. It seems as though this restaurant has very little experience with cooking and/or service. Hopefully these mistakes are growing pangs for a new restaurant, but I fear that if they don’t get it together quickly, they will close within a year.
