Base Camp Deli

We’ve lived in Bastrop for two years and had never eaten here. Sandwiches are not my favorite thing to eat out and also I can’t eat gluten. We were walking in Downtown last week and decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did because it was fantastic!! I had the turkey and havarti on gluten free bread, and it was the best sandwich I’ve ever eaten! The turkey was great and paired well with the Havarti. The greens on the sandwich were fresh and are tossed in their house made vinaigrette. They put sprouts on it and I love sprouts. I had them add Dijon mustard along with the herb mayonnaise, and all of the flavors combined so well. Gluten-free bread is not always great, but theirs was and it was toasted to boot. Yummy! 😋 My cousin had their egg salad sandwich and my husband chose their turkey reuben. Everyone loved it. We will definitely be back! In fact, leaving this review makes me think I might head there now before they close. 😆
