Beach Bums Cafe

I don’t usually leave anything but 5 star reviews but I felt compelled to share this experience in case it’s helpful for anyone deciding where to dine/have lunch. We were so disappointed with the food vs cost. And just the food generally. We ordered two salads, the fish and the summer salad. And two coffees. For $81. Two small salads and two coffees for $81. Both too small and lacklustre, too sweet for the summer salad and too flavourless and buttery/oily for the fish salad. We also ordered GF banana bread and waited a really long time for it, when it arrived it looked like it wasn’t gluten free (having seen both in the glass cabinet) and we had to double check and they confirmed it was not. Then they brought out the GF banana bread. In the grand scheme of things, life is short and this all might seem pretty trivial. But I guess life is short and sometimes you want good food and good service if you’re paying for it. So, if you want to eat good food, for good value, this is not the place to go. At least not for the salads and certainly not if you are in any kind of hurry.

Gluten free bread available. Quick and excellent service. brekky is only available til 1130. We arrived at 11:26 and the person at the counter was super accommodating and said that as long as we order brekky before 1130 she'll put the order thru, which I thought was super awesome. Great view. Good coffee. What else ya want?
