Bella Regina

Bella Regina is the true definition of an excellent restaurant. As an individual who cannot consume gluten, Bella Regina has plenty (!) of GF options that easily could pass as the real-deal. All food is made to order, so each dish that arrives at your table is freshly made and ready to absolutely melt in your mouth. The rice balls with the homemade red sauce, the chicken francaise and the gluten free pasta were all divine and so flavorful. Moreover (in addition to the out-of-this-world excellent food), the staff is so kind, engaging, lively and thoughtful. On top of it all, I’ve never been to a more dog-friendly restaurant in my life. If the above doesn’t qualify Bella Regina as the best restaurant in Utica, I don’t know what would! Thank you for the excellent evening.

I had a good meal there before with friends, so I convinced my husband to go. Explained to the waitress that he is gluten intolerant and was told that GF pasta was available. He ordered the chicken cachcitore with gluten free pasta. No bread, no croutons. Just a few hours after dinner my husband was very sick throwing up, diarrhea just like before he was diagnosed with celiac. Whether GF pasta was cooked in regular pasta water or he didn't get GF pasta at all or other possibility may have been the mushrooms. Guess we won't go back there.
