First off. This isn't a glitzy or glamorous hotel and there are bits of decour etc that could maybe do with a refresh. However (and it's an important however), the hotel doesn't pretend to be something it isn't, and for that I really liked it. The overnight price, the menu and the bar are all very reasonably priced, the bed was good, and the food very tasty with big portions.
If you're gluten free like me then this is an even better option. Although more and more places have GF beer on tap, this is still not that common and so I was delighted to find a GF lager from Drygate Brewery here. (only 2 places in Aviemore and I believe this is the only 1 in Grantown with GF on tap). Only £3 a pint too.
The evening menu is full of choice for GF, portions are big and it's really inexpensive. Breakfast was also great, and with both gluten free black pudding and gluten free haggis I felt obliged to have both.
I'm sure I'll be back.
