When my partner suggested we try the Irish place in town, I have to say I was skeptical. When I dug deeper into that skepticism, I realized that all I really knew about Irish food was potatoes and Shepard's pie, and really that says more about me that anything else. Regardless, I am so glad that we ended up giving Bia a chance because it's our new favorite place in the area (!) and that's saying something, as the Hudson Valley is known for its food scene. When it comes to specific dishes, Bia is just one of those restaurants where everything you order is a charming surprise--original, well seasoned, and cooked to perfection. Over a few visits we've tried many dishes and some stand outs are: the salmon over barley and peas (yum!), cheese board (to die for, especially the blue), trumpet mushrooms (I'm drooling). Their cocktails are also really good, I like the one with tarragon. The staff has always been super helpful and knowledgeable about the menu, easily accommodating my gluten free requests. Lastly, their outdoor patio is pleasantly green, shaded, comfortable, and most of all, COVID safe. Definitely put Bia on your list next time you're dining out.
