Biscotti's Restaurant

My mother and I had a girls weekend and decided to venture out for a good Italian meal.We aren’t familiar with the area being from out of town. I am gluten free so I did make that known from the beginning. We ordered the sausage foundue because I was under the impression it would be like any other fondue dish, that you dip the meat into the cheese. I just told the waitress “mom can have the piece of bread it comes with” She never insisted to me the whole dish was a loaf of bread and this fondue was more of a spread. Why wouldn’t she ask me knowing I’m gf how I would plan on eating this? That would have led me down a path to not order it. Again, I was thinking it was meat/veggies to dip into cheese. Anyway, needless to say, the whole dish was basically a loaf of bread. I apologized and said I was under the impression it was completely different and she took it back. We did not touch it. We didn’t even try it. By the way, my marinated chicken was subpar at best and the potatoes were not all the way done. My mothers pasta dish was nothing authentic. It also took 45 minutes to bring the food. The manager came over to “check in” and began to grill us on how known this dish had been for 26 years and how I should have read the description better. She continued to belittle us about not understanding what I was ordering. She then mentioned she took it off the bill with a regretful attitude. Mind you, it was a 12 dollar item. I hate to tell you but insinuating your Customers are stupid and grilling them with 25 questions about a 12 dollar item “Mrs Big Bully Manager” is not how you retain your Customers. A good manager will approach you to seek to understand how your meal was, what happened and say something like “Sorry there was a misunderstanding we will take it off the bill for you”. I felt like I was a 6 year old being scolded. The waitress came back and did not offer us the dessert menu like they did for the other tables around us. What a joke. If I had cash on me I would have left 12 dollars with a note that said “Since you seem to be struggling financially, I will pay for the item” We will never be back!

This was not our first time at this awesome little place, and certainly won't be our last! We went last night with a group of 10 ( total of 5 couples who do a monthly dinner outing ) and everything was great! The reservation process was easy, we were seated right away, our server was outstanding, food was great, and everyone had a good time. The family style salad is outstanding with the dried fruit and almonds and dressing is served on the side, which I like. I am the lone gluten free diner in our group and I love that they have a special GF menu. Fresh bread is served with the salad, great menu choices with ample portions and well made, authentic Italian food was a hit with all of us. I was told the wedding soup was the best one of our group ever had.
