Maybe the ultimate romantic restaurant in DC? What a delight of an establishment - cozy, intimate, incredibly chic and exceeded our expectations in every way. The menu is robust and can be modified well to meet any dietary requirements - my wife, who is gluten and dairy free, had no problem putting together an incredible meal. The calamari is one of the best I've had in DC, and we both enjoyed steak frittes and the beef bourguignon as the main course - would highly recommend both. The atmosphere is like none other - the alcoves that allow intimate dining for two are a must to enjoy conversation while still taking in the Parisian chic of the decorations, lighting and other touches that make you a Francophile for the evening. The service was warm, friendly and knew the menu very well to help with the dietary recommendations referenced above. Simply put - if you are looking for a very unique, romantic and quality dining experience, you will not regret Bistro Cacao.
