Bitter N Twisted

We were really looking forward to trying Bitter and Twisted in Grimsby on a double date with our cousin, but unfortunately, it was one of the worst dining experiences we’ve had in a long time. I have a gluten intolerance, so I ordered the gluten-free version of their honey pizza (I think it was called “Bee Humble”). What I received was completely unappetizing, it looked and tasted like one of those English muffin pizzas you make at home as a kid. The crust was dry and cardboard-like, and we weren’t informed that it would be a Detroit-style crust. Had I known, I wouldn’t have ordered it. I was immediately disappointed. My fiancé ordered the burrata pizza and was equally let down. It came with a single cold ball of burrata in the middle, and no other cheese on the pizza. The rest was just pesto, arugula, and a small amount of prosciutto. Every time he picked up a slice, all the toppings fell off. The flavors didn’t come together and it was honestly hard to eat. The couple we were with also weren’t pleased with their meals, and to top it off, the service was not great. Our server seemed overwhelmed, didn’t know the menu well, and was very short with us when we asked any questions. We love eating out and are always excited to try new places, but this was a major miss and at $80 for two pizzas, it felt like a huge waste. Unfortunately, we won’t be returning.
