Bitter Root Brewing

We drove 40 miles to have lunch and while looking at options I came across the Bitterroot Brewery, as soon as I read they had a dedicated gluten free fryer, I was sold. I should have kept reading because they don’t have a dedicated fryer. I was very disappointed but I ordered the smash burger and a side salad and it was very good. There were several options to choose from, so overall it was a win and I would go back.

I live in Idaho, but go to Missoula frequently. Bitterroot Brewing is one of my favorite places to stop for a late lunch/early dinner on the way home. Everything I’ve had from their menu is delicious. I usually have the fried cod (Gluten Free version of fish and chips) and my husband loves the traditional Fish and Chips. Coming from the Pacific Northwest, their recipe puts Ivar’s under the table! Easily the best we’ve ever had. And their brisket is to die for! I don’t think you could go wrong with anything on the menu. Bonus: the gluten reduced beer is excellent! My only complaint is that they won’t share their tartar sauce recipe. 😢 It is also the best I’ve ever tasted!

If you are celiac do not get excited about the menu here like we did. Yes, potatoes and sweet potatoes are gluten free but once you put them in a contaminated fryer they are no longer gf. The nachos were fantastic and gluten free! I am not gf and had the smoked brisket Mac and cheese and it was the best!
