I ordered the classic vegan burger with vegan cheese on the vegan gluten free bun. While it's the best gluten free bun I've ever had, it would be a MUCH better burger with a regular bun! Personally, I'm not a fan of gluten free and would have really liked just a regular bun. The patty was good but could use more seasoning. The fries are excellent. Definitely get the fries with your burgers!!!

Black Napkin's smash burger is the best burger I've ever had! 11/10 experience! My first visit: Jan 25th, 2025. Walking into Black Napkin it was clear this is a popular restaurant run by locals who care about the food and dining experience. Cozy take out spot with seating for 10-12, vibrant neighborhood, trendy street art vibe inside and out, and awesome owner/staff. Primary components and menu items are crafted from local ingredients. Excellent accommodations for standard and non-standard diners including celiac (gluten free), dairy free, and/or vegetarian/vegan made meals. I ordered the Big Malcom (double patty) on gluten free bun, the artisenal Pistachio Orange Bloom soda, and a local made Maple Fudge bar (brought in from Any Colour you Like, a Kenwood MI company). The menu includes classic as well as rotating specialty burger and fried chicken sandwich specials. Excellent establishment. Highly recommend you stop in for a meal.
