Black Rock Beach Club

We came on a Tuesday evening, no booking and it was unexpectedly busy, but we managed to get a table no problem. There was only 3 staff on when we arrived and that went down to 2 around 8ish, so we could see the kitchen and front of house staff were rushed off their feet! But regardless the staff were really attentive and helpful. I'm gluten free and had some questions about the options available and the communication between the chefs and front of house was great. We were sat near the kitchen so the chef even popped his head over the pass to speak to me about certain things, which was really nice. We have a 3.5 year old who loved the outdoor play area and the kids menu is good. The prices are a bit high, but the food was really tasty, so we didn't mind paying it. Overall we had a great time, would definitely come back and would recommend to anyone coming to the area!

I love that the place has been done up, the owners have done an amazing job and the family and dog friendly atmosphere is brilliant. But the food lately hasn't been great, lots of shortages on food including the gluten free options . When we attended my booking wasn't there which was strange as I booked it a few weeks prior face to face but we were accommodated. Little gluten free options on the evening menu apart from pizza which hasn't been great last few times its been tried so ended up with just chips. Options out which i totally get and there are often shortages of food. Ordered kids pizza for my 3 year old and it came out almost 15minutes after the rest of the mains came out, told 1 more minute when food first came out and we had to chase and it was still a while after chasing (for a 3 year old 15 mins is a long time so she ate her brothers beans) when the pizza came out it was badly burnt underneath and not edible. This was taken off the bill and only 1 chap was apologetic (thank you to him - wish he was around earlier) We will come back to drink there often but sadly I don't think we will be sampling the food again, really disappointed.
