Outstanding fish restaurant - traditional place in a nice residential neighborhood with a really elegant but friendly feel. Love the fresh fish market ambiance as you walk in but the tables in the back behind the wine cellar are just so cool - a quiet, intimate feel beyond the hustle and bustle of DC. Then the service started which was first rate - very knowledgeable and attentive server, described what’s on the menu and what’s special and the goes on to say they can make almost anything they have anyway we want - we tested her on that and she did exactly what she said. And then the food started to come out - first the bread which was hot baked and stunningly good. She had remembered one of our guests was gluten free so before we could ask she brought an amazing gluten free bread substitute for our guest. Then the seafood tower came out - oysters, shrimp, scallops, crab, lobster salad, poke - all delicious. All to be outdone by the main courses - highlights were the sea bass and the halibut. The deserts were a nice way to finish - not quite as great as the fish but still very good. Great cocktails, an even better wine selection not outrageously priced - all in all a fantastic meal and experience.

The food I had was delicious. The seafood in the appetizer was cooked and seasoned well. I enjoyed the flavors. I mentioned I was cold (seated in the wine room) and without asking the staff turned up the heat. The problem came from my entree selection. I asked if an item could be made gluten free and was told yes. It came out and was missing a key component. I had to send the food back because I wanted a full meal and didn't want to be charged the full price for half a dish. I wasn't informed of the way the meal would be changed before it came out nor was I offered an alternate selection that was safe for me to eat before or after the meal was served and returned. My husband wanted the special but it was out. I came on a holiday so I am just chalking this up to a fluke. Everything else was lovely.
