What an amazing place! My brother insisted we take my dad here for his 79th birthday. Everything from service, to ambiance, and especially the food was amazing. We were able to try a variety of dishes by sharing plates. They are also wonderful with allergies. They took care of my celiacs like pros. One of the most impressive dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. This is our new place for all special occasions!

The beef sandwich at this place is amazing. I always stop by when I’m in the Area and even seek it out sometimes. I’ve only come to this place during lunchtime to the market section. They have a gluten-free bread option that’s fine.

I've been to Blackbelly a handful of times over the years but my most recent experience was so good I had to share. First, the food. I'll join the literal thousands of people who agree that yes, the meat and butchery really is that good. Every plate was perfectly seasoned and thoughtfully prepared. The flavors were rich, inventive but not overpowering. The tartare is one of my favorites with a nod to a classic french preparation with a quail egg in the middle. The Bavette steak and chicken were equally delicious. However what really stood out to me was the exceptional service. My brother came from Fort Collins for a belated birthday celebration and from the second we opened the door to the leaving we were impressed. We were greeted warmly by the host (who immediately said happy birthday) and promptly led to our table. My brother was especially touched by the personalized menu with his name! To me, it was a small welcoming detail that set a nice tone for the evening. Our server Maya was awesome. She immediately noted his gluten allergy and guided him through the menu without making him feel embarassed for needing a few modifications. Everyone on staff noted the gluten allergy with every drop. And I know, I know, everyone is gluten free in Boulder but this is a legitimate allergy that will make him severely ill. Drinks came out promptly, our order was taken promptly, food was coursed out perfectly. This team truly did not miss a beat. We also chatted with GM (or owner?) Robert who made us feel welcomed as friends.To top off the evening, they sent a cute candle with dessert. Maybe these small things can be taken as a given at an upscale restaurant but truly they are not! Anyway, all of this to say what a gem to have in Boulder, especially in a location relatively off the beaten path for us locals who don't want to fight for parking on Pearl street. Thank you to Maya, Robert and the entire team. I hope someone sees this review and takes it as a sign to make a reservation! We will be back!
