Block Restaurant

We were quite surprised by this unassuming restaurant in a mostly commercial area. I wanted something local, unique, and delicious with gluten-free options. What an excellent choice! It started off a bit odd with the host being gone, and it took awhile for someone to seat us. Then we noticed the menu is just one page and pretty limited. We almost left. Thankfully the server arrived and was super nice. She explained that most things were GF or could easily be modified to be GF. While the menu is pretty limited, it has a good variety. They source as many local products as possible and have unique flavors. The pot de creme (chocolate mousse) with whipped cream (with Bailey's in it) and nuts (toffee normally but pecans for GF) is now in my top 10 desserts ever. So amazing. They also have unique drinks with fun names. We were so glad we stayed! Definitely recommend!

It took more than 20 minutes after we were sat before we had a waiter. Ask us for our order. If you're looking for pretentious overpriced food that has to have a sweet element and has to have a spicy element and has to have a salty element then this is probably the place for you. But if you're just looking for good food that feels good to eat it, this is not the right place. I think our bill was over $600 for eight people and no one got alcohol. Also for a restaurant that is "nice" no gluten-free menu, and the waiter didn't even know what options were gluten-free on their existing menu. Will never go back again.
