Blu' Island Bistro

We picked this restaurant based on the glowing reviews, but if they’ve won awards, they must’ve been from a decade ago because what we got was straight-up disappointing. The food came out cold. We ordered the gluten-free bananas foster French toast, but the toast was stone-cold, topped with bananas, and missing the “foster” part entirely. No syrup, unless you count the extra charge we had to pay for maple syrup just to make it edible. I ordered the crabcake with asparagus over hashbrowns, and the hashbrowns were also cold. As for the “crabcakes,” you’d be lucky to find two teaspoons of crab in there — mostly filler and a sad excuse for what should’ve been the star of the dish. To make it worse, the hollandaise sauce tasted like absolutely nothing. We had to doctor it ourselves with salt and lemon just to get some kind of flavor so we could choke it down. Drinks were fine, but overall, the food wasn’t worth the money or the hype. Severely disappointed.

Quaint little breakfast eatery. Indoor and outdoor seating. Fruit was fresh, French toast had gluten free option - superb. Italian eggs with cheesy hash browns- delicious. Everyone is so friendly, helpful and accommodating! 100 stars. Try it yourself. Oh- the apple cider mimosa- divine!
