We stayed in the cabin and ate breakfast at the lodge. This was the last night of our road trip so we splurged on a cabin and it was a total let down. The cabin was completely infested with moths. I'm an outdoors person and not afraid of dirt. There were 30+ moths we chased out or killed. When we told the lady at checkout she just shrugged and said "yeah that happens". The room was clean-ish, but not great. For breakfast. I had read on findmeglutenfree that people with Celiac were able to eat there. I asked what the options were and was met with a blank stare and utter ambivalence. I asked a few more questions and realized I'd wind up ill if I tried eating there. There was zero effort made whatsoever to ask the kitchen or get someone else who understood. Just another tired shrug. If you need to eat gluten free due to a legit medical need, this place doesn't seem to have options. Overall, the experience was completely lack luster in both areas for the money spent and I can't recommend it.

We made the trip into Custer Park not knowing what to expect. It took much longer than we thought and Blue Bell Lodge rescued our hungry bellies. We were disappointed because the buffalo specialty dishes were not available. They did provide great service when we advised of a gluten issue. Be sure to ask for their gluten free menu if you have gluten issues. It was busy and the wait was a bit long, but I'm sure others were in the same boat as us! Overall great experience and good food.
