It’s dangerous to suggest that you can provide diners with a gluten free meal, when cross contamination is not taken seriously. After eating here and having a delicious meal (sushi), my husband and I were over the moon that we found a sushi restaurant that knew what gluten free meant, was knowledgeable, and could keep me safe. I have celiac disease and the waitress we had was incredible, the first time we ordered she talked us through the steps they take to keep everything separate and gluten free for diners with allergies. But on our next visit, we were sat at the bar where the sushi chefs cross contaminated almost every ingredient that went into my rolls. I am extremely grateful that I didn’t get sick the first time eating here, and after seeing how they made the rolls in front of me on our second visit I did NOT eat anything they prepared. We called the manager over to explain that I couldn’t eat the meal they were preparing, and why... because I think it’s important to educate those who don’t understand how dangerous it is to cross contaminate food for those who are allergic. He was very lackadaisical about the situation, and although he was kind, he clearly didn’t care that I could have gotten sick and acted like we were wasting his time. Huge bummer. I’m writing this review solely to advise anyone who has a gluten intolerance or who has celiac disease to steer clear of Blue Sushi.
