Food was good but not as expected. The service was friendly however, the server may have been new. Everything we asked for he had to be reminded. We informed him we would be splitting the check when he greeted is, he brought us one check in the end. When he did split the bill (two ways) he charger the incorrect amounts on the cards. He went to "correct" it and basically just switched the receipts. When I called him on it after reviewing the credit card numbers on the receipts he apologized and actually corrected it. As far as the food, my party had a burger, the Reuben, and the Scottish Salmon. The burger and salmon was tasty, and the Reuben would not get ordered again on a return visit. Food portions were smaller than expected and the nice ambiance of the restaurant left me feeling like it should have been a more fulfilling visit, something seems missing from the experience but I can't quite put my finger on it. To end on a positive note, we had an apple crisp with ice cream for dessert and coffee. The dessert is worth visit alone, both the ice cream and the apple crisp were in the words of the late, great chef Carl Ruiz "beyond reproach" in my opinion. Also quick note for the gluten intolerant, no gluten free bread options are available here.
