Bobby's in Cronulla is a great choice for a summer evening dinner, particularly for those with dietary requirements. The restaurant was accommodating, effortlessly adapting dishes to be gluten-free. Standout dishes included the stracciatella with focaccia, the prawn roll, and the frozen spicy mango margarita, each showcasing thoughtful presentation.
However, while the dishes were visually appealing, some lacked depth in flavour. The grilled octopus, for example, was well-cooked—tender without being chewy—but fell short of being memorable due to its muted taste.
I would recommend skipping the set menu in favour of selecting à la carte options. Our table enjoyed an array of dishes, including Cantabrian anchovies on toast, wagyu beef carpaccio, kingfish ceviche, fried zucchini flowers, zucchini rigatoni, ragu mafalde, shoestring fries, and charred broccolini.
Overall, the meal represented excellent value for money. For under $400, four of us indulged in a variety of dishes accompanied by seven cocktails.
