Bonnechere Bakery & Bistro and Bonnechere at Home

A hospital visit in Renfrew led me to their gem of a restaurant and store. The staff were so helpful and knowledgeable and the food excellent. I spent time in the store afterwards, finding items I hadn’t been able to locate in Ottawa and vowed to return in the summer for a day trip. I took the scenic drive back to Stittsville via Packenham, Appleton and Almonte. (Amazing sights with the spring thaw, waterfalls and high water levels. A great day out). Looking forward to going back to Bonnechere Bakery and Bistro which is everything a person on a restricted diet longs for. Gluten free, dairy free and vegan options made this a diner's delight.

Heard about this cafe and did some research (family member is gluten intolerant) saw that they had a number of gluten friendly options and decided to drive the 40 mins to check it out. We were not disappointed. The three of us had three different options from the menu (gluten friendly included) and it was delicious! I was pleasantly surprised by the retail side as well. Will definitely be visiting again.

Excellent food and service but prohibitively expensive. The gluten free sandwich my partner ordered was so absurdly small for the price that we won't bother coming here for gluten-free sandwiches again.
